On June 24, 2016 from 10 AM to 3 PM, the NC State Grange will be hosting “Joining Forces to Bring Veterans & Careers Together”. This hiring event will be held at the Embassy Suites in Fayetteville, located just eight miles from Ft. Bragg. Our mission: To bring Agriculture & Agribusiness Careers and Military Veterans together. When we asked the North Carolina Department of Military and Veterans Affairs how we could show appreciation to our Veterans, their reply was, “Give them a job, our Veterans need jobs”; and we plan to do just that. The NC State Grange, organized in 1929, has a long rich history of support and advocacy for agriculture and community service. We find it fitting to introduce the largest industry in North Carolina–Agriculture & Agribusiness, to the 2nd largest industry in the state–our Military. We are joining forces with Agriculture & Agribusinesses all over North Carolina with the potential to offer Veterans employment opportunities either by a direct job offering or by training. Educational institutions that prepare Veterans for future employment will also participate.

North Carolina is an amazing place to live and work. Help us keep our Veterans in North Carolina! “Between 2015 and 2018, 78,000 service members will transition out of the NC military installations, adding strength to the 778,000 veterans already living in North Carolina.” (NC for Military Employment) Although many of our North Carolina businesses show support for our military veterans, oftentimes there is not a mechanism to identify and hire these very qualified and gifted candidates. The NC State Grange will make this possible by bringing these employment opportunities and our Veterans together.

In our quest to not leave any stone unturned, we will also invite many North Carolina businesses to participate; however, our focus will be Agriculture. Please do not hesitate to call or email Matthew Dansbury, LTC, USA, RET, and Grange member @ 910-624-4444 with any questions you may have. We look forward to fully support
ing all Soldiers- Active Duty, Reserve, Retired/Veterans and their family members- who attend this extremely worthwhile NC Grange event, which will ultimately benefit our military community and the state of North Carolina.

Thank you for supporting this effort.
